A VET Education Program for Energy and Environmental Capacity Development in the Western Balkans

The Entrepreneur Learners (VETERANS) initiative is an innovative project focused on energy efficiency and emission reduction, designed to support the achievement of European Union (EU) targets. Fully aligned with VET education priorities, the project promotes the development of green skills among entrepreneurial learners in both EU Member States and Western Balkan countries. By creating new and pioneering VET educational programs, the project aims to enhance the competencies, skills, and employability of VET students, ensuring that vocational training becomes more aligned with the evolving needs of the labor market.

The project’s design takes into account the needs of individuals from low socioeconomic backgrounds and underrepresented groups. VETERANS targets a wide range of stakeholders, including VET institutions, teachers, curriculum designers, employers and employer organizations, university students, VET learners, young professionals, and businesses operating within the green energy sector.

A central output of the project will be the development of an innovative educational application for VET learners in the field of entrepreneurship. This tool will serve as a comprehensive package to support both trainers and trainees in understanding, adopting, and applying green skill practices within their professional sectors. Through these efforts, VETERANS will act as a significant milestone in advancing EU sustainability objectives, working closely with Western Balkan partners. The toolkit of educational practices will be designed, validated, and tested to ensure its readiness for future capacity-building initiatives.
