Project Summary:

The PROFARMED project seeks to advance academic education in Precise Livestock Farming (PLF) by strengthening sustainable livestock management practices, thereby contributing to the improvement of the livestock agricultural sector from social, economic, and environmental perspectives. This objective will be achieved through the development of a comprehensive Practical Educational Plan aimed at enhancing the capacities of academics in the field of livestock agriculture, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to foster sustainability and innovation.

To realize these goals, the project encompasses several key activities. The development of the Precise Livestock Farming Blueprint will include the creation of a State-of-the-Art Report on PLF, the preparation of a Best Practice Report, and the organization of a dedicated PLF Roundtable to support knowledge exchange among stakeholders. The Practical Education Program Plan and Pilot-Testing phase will focus on three core thematic pillars—Economic, Social, and Environmental—ensuring a holistic approach to sustainable livestock management, followed by the pilot implementation of the educational program.

In addition, an E-Learning PROFARMED Platform will be developed, complemented by the PROFARM-ME feature, which will provide digital learning resources to support ongoing education and professional development. Comprehensive dissemination activities will ensure that the project’s findings, tools, and methodologies reach a wide audience, thereby maximizing impact and promoting the broad adoption of best practices within the sector.
