Project Summary:
The EMPHASIS project is an innovative initiative designed to transform the landscape of Higher Education (HE) through the integration of advanced learning tools, digital platforms, and sustainable practices. The project brings together a consortium of leading academic institutions and industry partners from across Europe and the Western Balkans, promoting a multidisciplinary approach to education in the fields of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
EMPHASIS is dedicated to developing an inclusive, future-oriented higher education service consisting of specialized modules that respond to the growing demand for skilled professionals in the green economy and energy sectors. Through the creation of five comprehensive modules and five additional sub-modules tailored for individuals with fewer opportunities, the project aims to equip HE staff and students with the expertise required to navigate and lead the transition toward a more sustainable future.
This foundational work enables the development of the EMPHASIS Innovative Hybrid Lab Modules, which will undergo rigorous pilot testing and accreditation in accordance with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). Complementing these efforts, a digital platform integrating virtual and augmented reality technologies, along with problem-based learning components, will be launched to offer an immersive and interactive educational environment. The platform—and by extension the Innovative Labs—will be designed to ensure accessibility for individuals with fewer opportunities and to promote gender equality throughout all project activities.
At the heart of EMPHASIS is a strong commitment to inclusivity and sustainability, positioning the project as a key contributor to the advancement of modern, equitable, and environmentally responsible higher education.
